WordTalk is a free text-to-speech plugin for microsoft word. It converts a written text to a spoken sound. It was originally developed for people with reading and writing difficulties but it can be very useful for English language learners and teachers. This plugin can be used to create listening activities such as dictations, audio short stories…etc.

WordTalk main features:

  • Speaks entire document, paragraph or word;
  •  Highlights the text as it goes;
  •  Talking dictionary;
  •  Adjust the word highlight colours;
  •  Change the voice and the speed;
  •  Convert text to speech (wav or mp3).
